Who is selling to you? Creem, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, PayPal and the app stores

When you buy a Spicanet product, a payment platform may be the seller of record. Here is what that means for receipts, taxes, cancellations and refunds.

Spicanet

Buying software online involves more than the product's own website. Depending on the checkout, the company that charges your card may be a merchant of record, a payment processor or an app store. The difference changes where your receipt comes from, who handles tax and where you cancel or ask for a refund.

Who you are buying from

Checkout Who sells to you Where to manage the purchase
Creem, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy The platform acts as merchant of record and resells the product to you. The customer portal link in your receipt email.
PayPal Spicanet sells to you; PayPal processes the payment. Your PayPal automatic-payments settings and the PayPal Resolution Center.
Apple App Store, Google Play The store processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. Your Apple or Google subscription and order history.

Cancelling a subscription

  1. Find the receipt email from the payment platform, or open the store's subscription settings.
  2. Cancel there. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
  3. Only then delete the app or the account. Deleting an app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Ask the channel that took your payment. For purchases outside app stores, Spicanet's refund policy sets a 14-day guarantee on first purchases unless a product page says otherwise. For app store purchases, Apple or Google decides.

Where to read the rules

I do not recognise a charge. What now?

Look for the receipt email first; it names the product. If you cannot find it, write to [email protected] with the date and amount and we will help you identify it before you contact your bank.
