Universal Rift: the Monolith teaser
Watch the official label teaser and read how an electronic music imprint turned its catalogue into a science-fiction story.
Universal Rift Records is an independent electronic music imprint where high-velocity drum & bass, hypnotic trance and mechanical techno meet. Its catalogue is told as a science-fiction story in chapters.
The teaser
The label's official teaser for release URIFT004, "Monolith". Video from universalrift.com.
Four strands of sound
- Futuristic drum & bass — rolling forward drive and precise transient engineering.
- Hypnotic trance — interlocking modular arpeggios and celestial atmosphere.
- Mechanical techno — cold mathematical precision and industrial percussion.
- Cinematic sound design — gravitational distortion, deep sub drops and dramatic silence.
Not exclusively mainstream dancefloor Drum & Bass. We explore darker, more hypnotic, atmospheric, and experimental musical territories while preserving the raw physical energy of the breakbeat.
