How to read a product's status
Live, Beta, In development, Research: what every status label means and what you can expect from a product in each.

Every product on spicanet.net carries a status. It is a promise about how finished the product is, so you know what to expect before you click through.
The statuses
| Status | What it means | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Live | Available to use today. | A working product with ongoing maintenance. |
| Beta | Usable, still being shaped. | Real features, rough edges and frequent changes. |
| In development | Being built. | Public pages may describe plans; features may not be available yet. |
| Research | Exploring the idea. | Nothing is promised. It may never ship. |
| Experimental | A small experiment. | Short-lived by design. |
| Paused | On hold. | No active development for now. |
Why statuses matter
- Choosing: know whether to rely on a product or just keep an eye on it.
- Expectations: a product in beta may change its features or pricing.
- Trust: a label that moves backwards (from Live to Paused) is better than a page that quietly goes stale.
Drafts you will not see
Some ideas are tracked privately as drafts. They do not appear on the site until their owner decides they are ready to be described publicly.
